AS Monaco will head to the Parc des Princes to face Paris Saint-Germain for the third time in the space of less than a month on Friday night. Sébastien Pocognoli's men do so in search of revenge.
Monaco are on an excellent run in Ligue 1 McDonald's. Unbeaten in their last six league games, the Principality club are firmly back in the race for European football. However, the toughest of all challenges now awaits them, a clash against the reigning Champions League champions.
PSG could still defend their European title having knocked Monaco out of the competition just over one week ago. Les Monégasques had hope of pulling off the upset, having initially gone 2-0 up in the first-leg, at the Stade Louis II, before then going on to lose 3-2. And that hope was even reignited at the Parc when Maghnes Akliouche levelled the tie on aggregate, and whilst Monaco would go on to draw on the night, Les Parisiens advanced on aggregrate (5-4).
It is why, after Saturday's 2-0 win over Angers, Monaco academy product Aladji Bamba set the tone. "We have a bit of a feeling of [wanting] revenge. Of course, we are going there to win," said Bamba in the mixed zone.

And there is precedent for Monégasque victory over Les Parisiens. In the return fixture in Ligue 1 McDonald's at the end of November, a Takumi Minamino goal was enough for Monaco to take the victory. Rennes are the only club who have reigstered more wins over PSG during the QSI era.
In both UCL games, Monaco competed well, earning a draw at the Parc. They will look to go one better on Friday night. But it won't be easy. "We have to expect that PSG dominate," said Pocognoli leading up to the game.
Despite an upcoming Champions League game against Chelsea, Pocognoli expects Luis Enrique's side to be focused. "It's PSG, they have to do the maximum to win every match. We will see their line-up but it is a very important match for them. I expect them to take the match seriously," said Pocognoli.
Heading into the encounter, PSG's advantage over second-placed Lens stands at just four points. Any slip up, and Pierre Sage's men will relish the chance to close the gap. Les Sang et Or are looking to apply the pressure and Monaco will do the same.

"We've played good matches [against PSG] but haven't had the right result," said Wout Faes, who started both of the UCL games. "We have to be at 100%. We have made them struggle but we have to be good in both boxes."
After three games between this pair this season, the record stands at one win, one loss, and one draw. This clash could not be more finely poised.
