For the second time this season, local rivals OGC Nice and AS Monaco saw out a draw (0-0), with neither side breaking the deadlock at the Allianz Riviera on Sunday afternoon.
It was an all-action start at the Allianz Riviera. Folarin Balogun had the first chance of the game, and it was a more than presentable one. Slipped through by Lamine Camara, it was the UMSNT forward who timed his run in behind the Nice defence, volleying first time but striking the bar of Maxime Dupé, on the ground and beaten (3').
But having been disappointed not to have taken the lead, the visitors were grateful to still be level just minutes later. Thilo Kehrer was initially adjudged to have handled inside his own box before VAR overturned the initial decision (4').
The game quickly settled, however, and chances were harder to come by for both sides, even if it was Nice who looked the more threatening for much of the first half. Le Gym went close through Sofiane Diop, who, bearing down on goal but pushed slightly wide by Jordan Teze, could only find the sidenetting of Philipp Kohn's goal (33').
Yet the best chance arguably fell to Balogun, and it was once again a combination with Camara that brought it about. But the Monaco forward's effort was well saved by Dupé, present when tested (31').

He was there once again when Aleksandr Golovin tested him with a sweetly struck volley from inside the box upon the return from the dressing rooms (47').
At the other end, Kohn was rarely tested by Nice, but the Swiss goalkeeper did almost hand the hosts a cheap goal with his poor clearance, straight to Sofiane Diop, whose shot required a goalline clearance from Kehrer (72').
It was Les Monégasques who played themselves into trouble once again nine minutes later, allowing Elye Wahi a shot on goal on the turn from the edge of the box. Kohn was up to the task to make the stop (81'). The match would end goalless, helping Nice edge further away from the relegation zone; for Monaco, the result does little to bolster their European ambitions.
Prior to Sunday's game, Monaco were on a run of three away games in Ligue 1 McDonald's without a goal scored. By failing to score in Nice, they have now failed to score in their last four. The last time that happened was back in April 2010, when Les Monégasques went six games without scoring a single goal away from home.
