Despite conceding possession for long spells, Toulouse struck with precision at key moments, while Paris FC once again paid the price for a lack of cutting edge at home.
Paris FC started brightly and nearly took the lead inside 20 seconds, Ilan Kebbal forcing Guillaume Restes into a sharp save from distance. However, Toulouse soon settled into their rhythm, pressing high and playing directly through their dynamic front line.
After Kevin Trapp denied Djibril Sidibé from the penalty spot midway through the first half, the visitors were rewarded for their dominance. Sidibé atoned moments later with a teasing cross that Santiago Hidalgo converted from close range to open the scoring (29’).
Paris FC wobbled, and Toulouse capitalised again eight minutes later. Yann Gboho cut inside from the left and curled a superb strike beyond Trapp to double the lead before the break (37’).
The hosts showed more intent after half-time, but Toulouse’s defensive trio of McKenzie, Cresswell and Nicolaisen remained untroubled. Any lingering hope for Paris FC disappeared just after the hour when Sidibé delivered his second assist of the evening, releasing Gboho in behind. The winger kept his composure to slot through Trapp’s legs and complete his brace (69’).
From there, Toulouse managed the game with maturity, limiting Paris FC to just two shots on target despite the hosts enjoying 65% possession.
Toulouse are one of four teams to have won the most penalties in the Top Five European leagues in 2025-26 (7), alongside Brest, Real Madrid and Brentford. However, TFC have failed to convert three of them, the highest tally in the Top Five alongside Lorient.
