Martial Godo kept up his good form in the Conference League by scoring the only goal against Aberdeen

It was two wins from two in the late fixtures in Europe for Ligue 1 McDonald's as both RC Strasbourg and Olympique Lyonnais recorded victories to stay top of the Conference League and Europa League respectively. Catch up on all the action with our recaps.

Aberdeen 0-1 RC Strasbourg

Despite Liam Rosenior rotating his side heavily, with all of Valentín Barco, Diego Moreira and Joaquín Panichelli on the bench, the Alsatians had enough about them to pick up a 1-0 win at Pittodrie. The hosts were more than up for the encounter, needing as they did a win to stay in the competition, and dominated the early going, with the lion's share of the chances in the first half. Irish international Andrew Omobamidele was immense to clear the ball off the line (10') before Racing were glad to see a goal for the hosts chalked off for handball (14').

A lack of a finishing touch would prove costly for the Scots, as Samuel Amo-Ameyaw delivered a fine cross for Martial Godo, who took the ball down sublimely before slotting home (35'). Into the second half, Mike Penders would make a fine save (52') early doors, but save that chance, it was largely one-way traffic, with the efforts of Dimitar Mitov keeping Rosenior's young charges at bay, twice denying Godo from close range. Strasbourg would have a chance to double their lead 20 minutes from time from the spot, but Ismaël Doukouré would see his effort saved (72'). From there, it was an exercise in control from RCSA, and they proved good value for a win which leaves them unbeaten in the competition and a point clear atop the table.

Olympique Lyonnais 2-1 Go Ahead Eagles

There were more goals at Groupama Stadium as Olympique Lyonnais held off Go Ahead Eagles, 2-1, but all of them came in the match's first twelve minutes. Playing in a new-look 3-5-2 as he coped with a rash of injuries, Paulo Fonseca saw a great response from his players in front of their supporters as they scored twice early doors. First, Afonso Moreira did well to finish off a sublime team move (3') before the visitors responded three minutes later.

Unmoved, Lyon would respond through Pavel Sulc (11'), who was first to react after the Dutch 'keeper spilled a long-range effort from Ainsley Maitland-Niles. One of three teams in the Europa League with fifteen points, along with Midtjylland and Aston Villa, Les Gones remain top of the table with two matchdays to play.
