With his fifth assist of the campaign, the OM striker becomes Ligue 1 McDonald’s new leading creator.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the new top passer in Ligue 1 McDonald’s. The Olympique de Marseille forward provided his 5th assist of the season on Matchday 14, setting up Pierre-Emile Højbjerg’s header for OM’s second goal in the 2-2 draw with Toulouse FC.

The Gabon international is the third player to reach five assists this season, after Adrien Thomasson (RC Lens) and Vitinha (Paris Saint-Germain). Aubameyang now sits alone at the top of the official assists ranking. Like the PSG midfielder, all five of his assists have come from open play and across four different matches, but the Marseille striker leads thanks to fewer minutes played (796 minutes compared to Vitinha’s 948).

Wearing the number 97 shirt, Aubameyang has made a flying start to 2025/26, being involved in 10 goals in 12 league appearances. He is one of only five players in Europe’s top five leagues this season to have scored at least five goals and delivered at least five assists, along with Michael Olise (Bayern Munich, GER), Luis Díaz (Bayern Munich, GER), Nico Paz (Como, ITA) and Lamine Yamal (FC Barcelona, ESP).

The OM striker now has 28 assists in 166 Ligue 1 appearances (3 with AS Monaco, 14 with AS Saint-Étienne and 11 with Marseille). After just 14 matchdays, he is already only one shy of his 2023/24 tally with OM (6 in 34 matches) and can realistically target a new personal best in the French top flight, having set his record with Saint-Étienne in 2012/13 (8 assists in 37 games).

OM double up

The best attack in the division (35 goals scored), Marseille now boast both the league’s top passer and its leading scorer. There was no change at the summit of the scoring charts on Matchday 14: Mason Greenwood remains top with 10 goals, ahead of Joaquin Panichelli (RCSA, 9) and Estéban Lepaul (Stade Rennais, 8).
