Monaco marked a return to winning ways, beating Ligue 1 McDonald's leaders PSG at the Stade Louis II thanks to a second-half goal from Takumi Minamino (1-0).
Monaco put PSG under the cosh in the first half. It was the home side, looking to bounce back from three consecutive defeats in Ligue 1 McDonald's, who had the better of the opening exchanges as they prevented the reigning champions from exerting their usual territorial dominance.
Mohammed Salisu went close with a volley from a corner (4') that Folarin Balogun almost succeeded in flicking on. Had he done so, it would have made life for Lucas Chevalier, who made the save down low. The PSG goalkeeper was in the wars, too, the subject of a heavy challenge from Lamine Camara (11'), but he got up to make a big save from Minamino, whose thunderbolt of a volley needed a strong hand from the France international (28').
In the meantime, Lukas Hradecky was worked by Vitinha, the scorer of a hat-trick in midweek in the Champions League, but the better chances kept coming for the Principality club, who would hit the post through Salisu (35').

Salisu then did have the ball in the back of the net (40') only for the offside flag to cut the celebrations short. PSG sparked into life upon the return from the dressing room. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia forced a save from Hradecky from a tight angle (54') and from the resulting corner, Senny Mayulu glanced a header just wide (55').
But it was the Principality club that got the opener. Salisu's ball down the left unleashed Aleksandr Golovin, who picked out Minamino. He couldn't beat Chevalier earlier in the game but he left the PSG goalkeeper with no chance this time, poking into the bottom corner (69').
PSG, however, took the reins. Chasing the game, they looked more like their usual selves, dominating possession and territory, even more so after Thilo Kehrer's red card (80').
Chances, however, remained at a premium. A good one fell to Quentin Ndjantou, but he lost his footing when striking the ball and could only slide the ball into the side-netting (85'). Paul Pogba then came on to make his debut at the Stade Louis II to shore up the defence.
Les Parisiens could not make their man advantage count. Vitinha saw a half-volley saved by Hradecky and Joao Neves then headed over deep in injury-time, but Sébastien Pocognoli's side held on, bringing an end to a run of three consecutive defeats in Ligue 1 McDonald's.
Monaco have scored in 12 of their 14 Ligue 1 McDonald's games this season. No team has bettered the Principality club's figure; PSG have also netted in 12 of their 14 games.
