Twice coming back to level the match from a goal down, Toulouse FC were unable to pick up a win against a battling FC Nantes side in a Ligue 1 McDonald's match that ended two-all. Catch up on all the action with our match report.

A scrappy first half

With both of these sides having started the season unevenly, the chase for three points was of the utmost importance. Nantes came into this match on the back of a dramatic derby draw against Rennes, while Toulouse had lost three straight in Ligue 1 McDonald's and definitely wanted a boost at home.

From the off, neither team shrank from the occasion, with Nantes' veteran 'keeper Anthony Lopes having to be sharp off his line against Franck Magri before Aron Dønnum fired wide at the other end. Just before the midway mark, it was Lopes again who was called into action, first to claim a dangerous cross then to deny Dønnum's countryman Warren Kamanzi and finally to stop Dønnum again. Lopes' vigilance would tell for his side, as it was the visitors who would finally break the deadlock just before the break. After Toulouse had half-cleared an effort following a mazy Matthis Abline run, Mayckel Lahdo slotted home a loose ball in added time, putting Les Canaris up a goal at the break.

Four goals in twenty minutes

While Lahdo's strike had given the visitors the lead, Toulouse weren't long in responding, as Carles Martínez Novell made changes at the break, including bringing on Yann Gboho, who had been dropped for a penalty spat. The Rennes academy product didn't waste much time in scoring against a former Breton rival, either, leveling the match on 47 minutes.

From there, though, the level scarcely dropped, as both teams played with the bit between their teeth, and again it was Nantes who took the lead, with teenage midfielder Louis Leroux netting just after the hour. Toulouse, now behind again despite having largely dominated play, would have a chance to respond after Kamanzi was brought down in the area. Dønnum coolly converted to make it two-all, and that's how the match would end, with Toulouse being perhaps spared a defeat after a big miss by substitute Herba Guirassy in added time.

The stat: 5

Anthony Lopes made 5 saves, bringing his league-leading total to 24.
