Stade Brestois lifted themselves off the bottom of the Ligue 1 McDonald's table with a convincing win over OGC Nice (4-1) to grab their second consecutive win of the campaign thanks to goals from Ajorque, Del Castillo, Chotard, and Labeau-Lascary. Meanwhile Teram Moffi grabbed a goal which initially got Les Aiglons back into the game.
It was a quick start for the hosts as Romain Del Castillo beat Tiago Gouveia on the right flank and delivered a precise low cross into the six-yard box. Ajorque then timed his run perfectly, reacted quickest to tap the ball home at close range to give Brest an early advantage (6'). Del Castillo doubled the advantage with a curling strike from the edge of the area that hit the crossbar before nestling in the top corner, leaving Nice goalkeeper Diouf helpless (9').
Nice pulled one back in the 30th minute when Terem Moffi converted a perfectly timed pass from Boudaoui with a smooth half-volley giving the visitors hope to get back into the game during the start of the second half. Haise's men pushed, but their hard work was undone as Joris Chotard popped up with a stunning strike from outside the box to score his first goal for Stade Brestois since signing from Montpellier this summer (70').
After Brest's two-goal cushion was restored, Rémy Labeau-Lascary would make sure the away side could definitively not get back into the game. Receiving a perfectly weighted outside-of-the-foot pass from Ajorque, Labeau-Lascary outpaced his man and calmly slotted past Diouf to make it 4-1 and put the result clearly out of sight, even if Kevin Carlos' header fell close to Grégoire Coudert's post in added time.
Brest have scored four goals in a game for the first time since 30th March 2025 against Toulouse (4-2). It is also the first time since that win over Toulouse that there have been four different scorers for Brest. Les Pirates have also scored in their last 3 games in the Ligue 1, their longest run of games with a goal in the competition since a run of 7 games from 30th March 2025 to 10th May 2025.
