With four first-half goals, Paris Saint-Germain emphatically beat Toulouse FC on the road, 6-3, with João Neves and Ousmane Dembélé combining for five goals. Get the latest with our match report.
In a match that some had viewed as something of a trap, owing to it being on the road and Toulouse having won both of their first two matches, the capital side delivered their finest display to date in the still-new Ligue 1 McDonald's season, despite a new-look defence that saw Willian Pacho and Marquinhos both rested. With Khvicha Kvaratskhelia also on the bench, the visitors started the match without skipping a beat.
In the seventh minute, as the hosts struggled to clear a free kick, Dembélé controlled in the area, and laid the ball off for Neves, who fired in a sublime overhead kick to put his side ahead. Three minutes later, Bradley Barcola joined the party. The young Frenchman, a surprise starter ahead of Kvaratskhelia, doubled the lead with a sublime finish on the counter, and the match was yet to be a quarter of an hour old when Neves was at it again, unbelievably scoring with another overhead kick, after a fine cutback from Achraf Hakimi.

Despite a comfortable lead, the champions were far from done, as Dembélé converted a penalty won by Désiré Doué just after the half hour (31'). Toulouse would respond through Charlie Cresswell, with the Englishman profiting from PSG failing to clear a corner. Just before the interval, Lucas Chevalier turned in an impressive save, stopping a penalty by Frank Magri. After the break, Dembélé would make Les Violets rue their profligacy, converting a spot kick to make it 5-1 before Neves completed his hat trick (78').
Toulouse would get another goal back through Yann Gboho in the 89th, but it was in vain, although to cap things off, the hosts scored the match's final goal through midfielder Alexis Vossah -- the 17-year-old was making just the second professional appearance of his career. While PSG will surely be disappointed at having conceded three, their place atop the table will surely soothe any consternation they might feel ahead of the international break. Now with two weeks off before they face first Lens in the league and then Atalanta in the Champions League, PSG will rest easy, as they're likely to enter the break with the league's only perfect record given the challenging matches in store for both Lyon and Strasbourg tomorrow.
