Paris Saint-Germain have officially completed the signing of Lille and France U21 goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, who joins the Ligue 1 McDonald's Champions on a five-year deal.

The Frenchman is familiar to fans of Ligue 1 McDonald's, having established himself as one of the standout goalkeepers over the past two seasons with Les Dogues. A product of Lille’s academy, the Calais-born shot-stopper made 127 appearances for the club, helping them qualify for Europe on multiple occasions and earning a place in the UNFP Ligue 1 Team of the Season for 2024-25.

During the previous campaign, Chevalier featured in wins in the UEFA Champions League against the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus, and Atletico Madrid. “I have a personal pride in having thwarted some of the best players in the world," said the Frenchman following a win over Real back in October.

It's with this European and Ligue 1 McDonald's experience in mind that PSG have opted to sign the Frenchman, who is still only 23 years-old but is already being touted to serve as Mike Maignan's deputy for France's FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign.

"An immense joy"

Speaking to the club's website, Chevalier reflected on how the choice was an easy one for him, given the club's present and future, saying, "When the best team of the year, maybe even the best team in the world right now, comes calling for you, it's hard to say no. There's everything here. This is a club that wanted the Champions League and won it last season, because it deserved it. The staff, the training facilities, the management... everything is top notch. I'm an ambitious player and I know I can achieve great things."

Continuing, Chevalier said,It's an immense joy for me to join Paris Saint-Germain, and I'm going to wear that shirt with love and ambition. It's an ambitious club, and I can't wait to meet the fans. I'm a kid who's living his dream, which is to play for a very big club, and the fact that it's Paris, the Capital Club, means even more to me. I can't wait to see the fans at the Parc and I'm going to give it my all. Together, we'll win a lot of titles!"
