International Roundup: CONMEBOL

If you missed any of the action, here's Thursday's set of matches featuring a handful of Ligue 1 McDonald's players on international duty in South America.

Brazil 0-0 Ecuador

Paris Saint-Germain captain Marquinhos, AS Monaco's Vanderson, and LOSC Lille defender Alexsandro were in the backline for Brazil in this contest as the duo helped record a clean sheet for Carlo Ancelotti, who was managing his first contest for the five-time World Cup winners.

Off the bench, Andrey Santos, who spent last season on loan at RC Strasbourg made his senior debut for Brazil. Marquinhos, Alexsandro, and Vanderson played all 90 minutes for Ancelotti while Santos saw 12 minutes of action coming in as a substitute.

For Ecuador, PSG's Willian Pacho featured in the starting 11 and played all 90 minutes for La Tri. Pacho and his teammates in defense also recorded a clean sheet as neither team's attack could break the deadlock, leading to a scoreless draw.

The next match for these two sides will see Ecuador travel to face Peru while Brazil will take on Paraguay at home to close out this international window.

Argentina 1-0 Chile

The reigning World Cup winners featured three Ligue 1 McDonald's players in Olympique Lyonnais' Thiago Almada and Nicolás Tagliafico and Olympique de Marseille's Leonardo Balerdi. The OM defender played 79 minutes alongside Tottenham Hotspur's Cristian Romero, playing a part in the clean sheet that Argentina recorded on Thursday night.

As for Almada, he provided the assist on the only goal of the contest as he connected with Julián Alvarez of Atlético Madrid for the opening strike in the 16th minute. The OL player played 84 minutes in the win while his teammate, Tagliafico, played the entire match for Argentina.

On the Chilean side, Toulouse FC's Gabriel Suazo featured in the starting 11 and played all 90 minutes for Ricardo Gareca and his team. Chile's next match in this international window will be an away match against Bolivia while Argentina will head home to host Colombia.
