Dier comes over from Bayern Munich, where he's spent the last two years with the German side. He made 47 appearances across all competitions during his tenure there with the Bundesliga club and won the league title this season, the first trophy of his professional career.
Along with winning a league title, Dier brings experience to a Monaco team that have qualified for the UEFA Champions League next season. Ahead of his arrival in Monaco this summer, Dier shared a message to supporters.
"I'm very excited to announce that I will be joining AS Monaco in the summer, and I can't wait to get started. I'm really looking forward to wearing this shirt, and I can't wait to meet everyone at the club at the Stade Louis II and get started. I'm really looking forward to it. I'm going to give everything for this club. I look forward to seeing you all very soon."
Monaco will look to go on a deeper run in the Champions League next season and they're bringing in a player who knows what it takes to go on a long run in the competition.
The 31-year-old was part of a Tottenham Hotspur club that reached the final in 2019, losing to Liverpool. He also has appeared in 41 Champions League matches, so Dier brings a wealth of experience.
Dier spent most of his career at Tottenham, making 365 appearances for the north London club from 2014 to 2024. However, Dier received his first taste of first-team football playing for Sporting Lisbon as he came up through their youth academy.
He made 16 appearances for the B team and 32 total appearances for the senior squad before moving to Spurs.
The veteran's strong performances at the club level led to his England debut in 2015. Since then, he's earned 49 caps and scored three goals for the Three Lions, featuring in Euro 2016 as well as the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups.
