On Sunday evening, as part of the celebrations of their 125th anniversary, Olympique de Marseille wore a special kit to celebrate their connections to Côte d'Ivoire.
In Sunday's victory over Brest -- a result which lifted them into second place -- l'OM celebrated their rich history ahead of their 125th anniversary, set for this May 2nd. To honor legends like Didier Drogba, the Abidjan-born Basile Boli (who was present in the stands) and Ibrahima Bakayoko, the club wore a special kit marking the country's rich culture and history.

In addition to a distinctive pattern, each jersey also bore the name of a region of the country, while traditional Ivorian food and dance were also celebrated at the Vélodrôme. This initiative continues a partnership that was established in 2023 and strengthened in November, when Pablo Longoria, the club's president, paid a visit to the country to enhance the strategic partnership between the two entities, meeting with tourism minister Siandou Fofana.
If the result on Sunday -- a 4-1 win -- is anything by which to go, the club and their fans may hope for another activation in this mode soon!
