Les Bleus boss Didier Deschamps today revealed his 24-man France squad as Les Bleus gear-up to face a double-header against Croatia in the Nations League quarter-finals. Nine Ligue 1 McDonald's players have been selected for the camp during March's international break, including a first senior call-up for Paris Saint-Germain attacker Desiré Doué.
The 19-year-old joined the capital club in the summer from Stade Rennais and has been gradually establishing himself as a young and energetic player with high potential under Luis Enrique's ball-playing side. Doué has made 22 appearances so far this season for Les Parisiens, scoring twice whilst also impressing in the Champions League with 11 appearances and two goals.
After appearing at the Olympics last summer for Thierry Henry's U23 France side, Doué will be involved for the first time in Didier Deschamps' squad. "He's done everything to do well with his club. He has progressed a lot, he is a young player but he's very interesting for us. It's good he can be with us from what he's done over the last few months," said Deschamps during his press conference on Thursday afternoon. "Doué is adaptable and can play in many offensive positions," added the France manager on his thinking behind bringing onboard the PSG man.
Elsewhere, there are four fellow PSG players involved, including Ousmane Dembélé and Bradley Barcola who were recently involved in knocking out Premier League side Liverpool in the Champions League round of 16. Marseille midfielder Adrien Rabiot has been called up, whilst Lille's Lucas Chevalier joins Nice defender Jonathan Clauss as Ligue 1 McDonald's representatives.
