Pierre Sage leaves OL.

“Olympique Lyonnais is compelled to suspend its coach, Pierre Sage, as well as staff members Jamal Alioui, Rui Lemos, Denis Valour and Rémy Vercoutre, pending a decision in the coming days,” announced the club, currently 6th in Ligue 1 McDonald's, this Tuesday morning.

In its press release, OL added that: “this sporting choice, which comes in the current context of the 2024/2025 season, does not call into question the tremendous work carried out at the beginning of 2024, for which Olympique Lyonnais will always be grateful to Pierre Sage and his team.”

A 7th coach since June 2019

Finalists in the last French Cup, Olympique Lyonnais are guaranteed a place in the Europa League play-offs this season.

Pierre Sage's (45) successor will be Olympique Lyonnais' seventh coach since Bruno Genesio's departure in June 2019.
