It will be all smiles in Hérault tonight. Montpellier supporters haven't had much to celebrate in recent months, but Jean-Louis Gasset's side has sealed an important victory to push MHSC off the bottom of the table and ahead of Le Havre. Les Héraultais secured a second straight win for the first time this season, and they had to comeback from behind to achieve it. Les Violets opened the scoring via midfielder Cristian Cásseres Jr with a superb finish. The Venezuelan found the ball on the edge of the box and he swept home a well-hit strike past Benjamin Lecomte (59').
It was looking like another away loss was coming on its way, but Montpellier quickly reacted. Sagnan eliminated Genreau easily with a Cruyff turn and finished low into the back of the net (83'). Immediately on level terms, MHSC wanted to go a step further. Savanier swung the ball into the far post and it was Othmane Maamma who connected perfectly to put the visitors in the lead at the Toulouse Stadium (83'). Jean-Louis Gasset's men then saw out the lead to earn a precious point near the bottom of the table.
Olympique Lyonnais had the chance to catch up with Lille in the upper echelons of the Ligue 1 McDonalds table, but a last-gasp strike from Mustufa Mohamed in the 90th minute saw Les Gones lose ground in the race for European football. Things were looking rosy for the visitors from the banks of the Rhône river, when Ernest Nuamah opened the scoring with a great finish in front of Antony Lopes after Tagliafico was set up by Tolisso (10').
It was a competitive clash between the two sides as Stade de la Beaujoire, and Pierre Sage's men thought they were taking the three points, but then a late turnaround saw fate choose otherwise. La Beaujoire exploded with joy when Les Canaris equalised in injury time. Moses Simon's cross was found by Mustafa Mohamed, who outpaced Moussa Niakhaté and sent an unstoppable low shot across goal which beat Lucas Perri (90').
Will Still had plenty of changes to make in his side, including an outing for newly-signed goalkeeper Matt Ryan. Les Sang & Or would be successful in their outing against Angers, with Przemysław Frankowski's strike a few minutes after half-time the difference between the two sides. The Polish wingback made a splitting run down the right side after Medina linked up well with Machado. The former's cross flew past everyone except Frankowski, who met with an unstoppable strike (49'). Will Still's men would see out the result to go level with Lyon and OGC Nice in the race for the European spots.
