Lyon Secure Wilfried Zaha on loan

Olympique Lyonnais finalised their transfer business with the arrival of Ivorian international Wilfried Zaha (31 years old, 31 caps). The forward joins on a paid loan worth €3 million from Galatasaray. Having been in Turkey since the summer of 2023, the skillful winger made his name in the Premier League at Crystal Palace, Manchester United, and Cardiff.

LOSC Strengthens Squad for Champions League

Freshly qualified for the Champions League, LOSC have bolstered their attack by signing Matias Fernandez-Pardo (19 years old). The young Belgian, an Under-19 international, shined at the end of last season with La Gantoise, scoring 7 goals in the final 10 league matches. This transfer sees the forward return to the Domaine de Luchin, where he played from ages 9 to 15 in LOSC's youth system.

Just minutes later, LOSC also strengthened their defence with the signing of Mitchel Bakker. The former PSG left-back joins on loan from Atalanta Bergamo for the entire 2024/25 season. In addition to these two moves, the northern club also welcomed a new goalkeeper. Free agent Marc-Aurèle Caillard (30 years old) has signed a one-year contract with LOSC after leaving FC Metz. He will be the third-choice keeper behind Lucas Chevalier and Vito Mannone.

Toulouse FC and Le Havre Add New Faces

Toulouse FC secured their sixth signing of the window with Slovenian international midfielder Miha Zajc (30 years old, 39 caps) arriving on a one-year loan from Fenerbahce, with no purchase option. In Normandy, Le Havre brought in Timothée Pembélé. The 21-year-old former Parisian joins HAC on loan from Sunderland AFC.

FC Nantes Bolster Squad

On the banks of the Erdre, Patrik Carlgren (32 years old) has signed a two-year deal with FC Nantes. The Swedish goalkeeper, a free agent, joins as the second-choice keeper for the club. The Canaries also prepared for the future by signing Yassine Benhattab (21 years old) on a three-year deal from Aubagne. The midfielder has been loaned back to Aubagne, who have just been promoted to the National league.

Rennes and Brest Go All Out

Stade Rennais FC has secured a new forward. In the final hours of the transfer window, Julien Stéphan's side completed the transfer of Jota from Al-Ittihad. The 25-year-old Portuguese player joined the Saudi club a year ago after making a name for himself at Celtic Glasgow. Additionally, Naouirou Ahamada has signed with SRFC. The 22-year-old French-Comorian midfielder, born in Marseille and trained at Juventus, was previously at Crystal Palace. He joins on loan with a purchase option, the details of which were not disclosed by the club.

Going the other way, Warmed Omari has moved from Stade Rennais FC to Olympique Lyonnais. A product of Rennes' youth academy, the 24-year-old defender is on loan for €500,000, with an option to buy set at €10 million. With 75 Ligue 1 McDonald's appearances to his name, Omari will now look to establish himself in Lyon. Alongside this departure, and that of Benjamin Bourigeaud, Rennes also saw Ibrahim Salah (22 years old) leave on loan to Stade Brestois 29.

Released from his contract by RC Lens, Massadio Haïdara has also joined SB29 on a one-year deal. The left-back arrives to cover the long-term absence of Bradley Locko, who is out with an Achilles tendon injury. He will compete with Jordan Amavi for a starting spot. Finally, having been on loan to Brest last season, Kamory Doumbia, formerly of Stade de Reims, has signed permanently with the club. The Malian international (19 caps, 8 goals) has signed a five-year contract.

In a flurry of activity on the final day of the window, Stade Brestois 29 also added two more players. The first is Edimilson Fernandes, who arrives on loan from Mainz. The Swiss international midfielder (30 caps) has previously played for West Ham and Fiorentina. He will make his Champions League debut with SB29 this season. The second signing is Mama Baldé from Olympique Lyonnais. The Bissau-Guinean international (29 caps, 5 goals) has signed a contract with the Finistère club until 2027.

Other Notable Transfers

RC Strasbourg Alsace has signed another goalkeeper. Serbian goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic (24 years old) has joined RCSA on loan from Chelsea for the season. This is a loan deal with no option to buy, according to the Alsatian club, currently sixth in Ligue 1 McDonald's after the third matchday. Petrovic will partner with Karl-Johan Johnsson, another summer recruit.

At AS Saint-Etienne, a new midfielder has joined in the form of Pierre Ekwah (22 years old). Trained and developed in England, he arrives on loan with a purchase option from Sunderland AFC. Shortly after, a forward also joined ASSE's ranks. Lucas Stassin has signed from Westerlo in the Belgian Pro League. The young Belgian (19 years old) was trained at Anderlecht.

Among the newly promoted clubs, Angers SCO has secured Bamba Dieng. Back in Ligue 1 McDonald's, SCO has signed the Senegalese international forward on a one-year loan from FC Lorient. The 24-year-old scored 4 goals in 16 appearances in the top flight last season.

Olympique de Marseille has found a replacement for Faris Moumbagna, who suffered a severe knee injury. The club has announced the signing of forward Neal Maupay on loan with an option to buy from English club Everton. The 28-year-old Maupay, who was an academy product at OGC Nice, has previously played for Stade Brestois 29 and AS Saint-Etienne before moving to England with Brentford. He now returns to Ligue 1 McDonald's, where he will compete with Elye Wahi for the top spot in Marseille's attack.
