As July comes to an end, the Ligue 1 transfer market remains active, with AS Monaco, FC Nantes, and Stade Rennais all adding new players to their squads for the 2024-25 season.
Monaco boost midfield with Lamine Camara
After bolstering their forward group with the arrival of George Ilenikhena from Antwerp, Monaco are now focusing on their midfield. Les Rouge et Blanc have welcomed Lamine Camara as the 20-year-old will be staying in Ligue 1 for next season as he arrives from FC Metz.
Before arriving in France, the young midfielder made his professional debut in Senegal, where he had come through Génération Foot's youth system. In 2023, Camara moved abroad to join Metz, and now, with his move to Monaco, he'll be writing a new chapter in his career.
Camara made 37 appearances during his time with Les Grenats, scoring two goals and six assists. The Senegal native will feel right at home scoring at the Stade Louis II since he scored a highlight-reel goal from the midfield this past 2023-24 season against Monaco.
Nantes welcomes Sorba Thomas
Les Canaris are bolstering their attack with the arrival of Sorba Thomas who spent last season with Huddersfield Town. The 25-year-old made 49 appearances across all competitions for the Championship side, scoring four goals and registering nine assists.
Leo Østigård to help Rennes' defense
Stade Rennais have improved their defense with the arrival of Norway native Leo Østigård, who spent the last three years with Napoli and was part of the squad that won the 2022-23 Serie A title. The 24-year-old made 32 appearances across all competitions for Napoli last season, scoring two goals.
