Olympique de Marseille 3-0 Pau
Roberto de Zerbi's third friendly as OM boss ended in a convincing victory for Les Olympiens, who raced to a three goal lead thanks to goals from Mason Greenwood, Luis Henrique and Bakola. The Italian is beginning to lay down his tactics with his Marseille side, who largely dominated the Ligue 2 side.
Roma 0-1 Toulouse FC
Les Violets not only remained unbeaten in their third warm-up match at the club's training centre, but also recorded a prestigious 1-0 win over Italian giants Roma thanks to a goal from Yann Gboho. "We had our chances in the first half and suffered a little in the final minutes," said Téfécé coach Carles Martinez Novell, "but overall we deserved to win".
Saint-Etienne 3-1 Villarreal
ASSE took on La Liga side Villarreal in their second friendly match of pre-season at their camp in Thonan. Sergi Cardona scored for the visitors at the end of the first period, before new signing Davitashvili's missile into the top corner levelled the score. The Georgian international then set up Jibril Othman, who went on to secure a brace and the victory for Les Verts.
Rennes 2-1 Angers
After a draw against Saint-Malo and a win against Laval, Stade Rennais continued their preparations with a 2-1 win over regional neighbours Angers. In Vitré, SRFC faced Angers, back in Ligue 1 this season. Julien Stéphan fielded Gronbaek and Kamara in a 4-4-2 diamond formation, with Seidu in central defence.
