Born in the city of Taubaté in the interior of São Paulo, Moscardo came through the academy of local club Atleta Cidadão before O Timão in 2017, at the age of 12. After coming through the club's ranks, he made his debut just over a year ago, coming off the bench against Uruguayan side Liverpool in the Copa Libertadores. He continued to be a integral part of the team even as his club underwent a tumultuous season, with three different managers taking charge of the team. Despite this churn, the team managed to reach the semifinals of the Copa Sudamericana, beating the likes of Newell's Old Boys and Estudiantes along the way, with Moscardo showing his mettle at every turn.
In making the leap from Corinthians to Paris, Moscardo has something in common with another Brazilian in the squad, club captain Marquinhos. Speaking to the club's website, he underscored the importance of the defender in his decision, saying, "As soon as I learned the interest of Paris Saint-Germain, I thought of Marquinhos. It was undoubtedly a factor in my choice. He's been here for a long time, he knows the team and the city well. Having Marquinhos as a Brazilian and as captain of the team will certainly help me adapt to the club and the language.”
Happily ensconced in training and eager to get started with the Ligue 1 champions with a pair of friendlies against Sturm Graz and RB Leipzig, Moscardo will face competition for places in midfield alongside the likes of recently crowned European champion Fabián Ruiz and academy product Warren Zaïre-Emery, but his preternatural ability and defensive composure are likely to make a key part of Enrique's plans
