Things are moving fast at RC Strasbourg Alsace ahead of their match against Olympique Lyonnais this weekend. Standard-bearer of a Strasbourg youth team on the up and in the running for Europe with its 11 goals in Ligue 1 McDonald's (8 goals in 2025), Emanuel Emegha is the fastest player this season.
A true sprinter, the 22-year-old Dutch striker is the same height as a certain Usain Bolt (1.95m). A mere blink of the eye, even if Emegha does reach a sprint speed rarely seen in the championship! Against AJ Auxerre, the RCSA's number 10 was clocked at 37.72 km/h during a defensive retreat of more than 60 metres.
This puts him well ahead of the fastest players in Ligue 1 McDonald's.
Emanuel Emegha's activity is also exemplary. In addition to being the striker who covers the most kilometres per match (9.99 km), he holds the record for the most sprints in a single match, namely 43 on 25 January against LOSC.
Over the season as a whole, the Strasbourg player is also in the Top 5 most active (4th), behind his team-mate Diego Moreira (3rd). The top spot is occupied by Adrien Truffert (SRFC, 533).
STAT: Adrien Truffert (Stade Rennais) is the player who has travelled the greatest distance at high intensity (33.8 km)
The speedy runs of these two Alsatian gems are intense, since no player rivals them in the ranking of sprint distance covered in 2024/25! The RCSA's man in lane 3 is ahead of his teammate at number 9. The Portuguese is the only one to have run more than 10km sprinting this season.
Logically, RC Strasbourg Alsace is the club that covers the most kilometres in sprints in Ligue 1 McDonald's (ahead of AS Monaco and OGC Nice). And the Alsatian club is also the one that covers the most (3996).
A third Strasbourg player stands out in the athletic performances of the season: Andrey Santos. The Brazilian midfielder is the player who has covered the most kilometres in total (259.2). In terms of the average per match, the Racing captain is followed by four players with a higher mileage, led by Haris Belkebla (SCO). The Algerian is followed by another Brazilian, Douglas Augusto from Nantes.
Douglas Augusto also shines in terms of top performances in a single match, as he is the only player to have covered at least 13 kilometres in a match on several occasions (2, vs HAC, PSG).
Of the clubs, LOSC Lille has covered the most kilometres since the start of the season, with an average of 113.6 km. The Dogues are ahead of another Champions League club, PSG (113 km).
Lille players have covered the longest cumulative distance in a match this season: 123.2 km. A record achieved during the away game at Strasbourg in J25 (2-1). A match in which the most kilometres were covered in 24/25 (244.7 km).
In the rankings, FC Nantes is in 2nd place with 122.5 km covered during the trip to PSG (1-1) and OL completes the podium (122 km), also on the occasion of their match in the capital (3-1).
