Le Classique: Five Classic Moments Between PSG and OM

2011: Ayew brothers put on a second half show against PSG

It was a sibling moment in this edition of Le Classique. The Ayew brothers put on a show after OM took a 1-0 lead over PSG; Jordan Ayew assisted on Morgan Amalfitano's second goal. On the third goal, André Ayew tormented the Parisians as he scored Marseille's third goal for the 3-0 win.

2012: Two Braces in 15 minutes

Anyone who missed the first 32 minutes of Les Classique missed an amazing moment in this rivalry as André-Pierre Gignac and Zlatan Ibrahimović exchanged braces in 15 minutes. Gignac scored in the 17th minute, followed by Ibrahimović scoring two goals in two minutes, and then it was the Frenchman scoring his second goal in the 32nd minute.

2016: Zlatan Ibrahimović scores second half brace in last Le Classique

Ibrahimović made his final appearance in Le Classique unforgettable, scoring a second-half brace in the 2016 Coupe de France final against OM. The former PSG striker sealed another trophy for the Parisians and left the pitch on a high note.

2017: Edison Cavani's game-tying goal at Stade Vélodrome

Marseille came close to ending their six-year winless streak against PSG, having last defeated their rivals in 2011. With a 2-1 lead at home, it seemed like the streak would finally snap. However, in second-half stoppage time, Edinson Cavani netted the equalizer for PSG, who were down to 10 men after Neymar Jr. was sent off with a second yellow. PSG left Stade Vélodrome with a point, extending Marseille's winless run.

2020: OM snap nine-year winless streak against PSG

The final whistle marked a memorable moment in this clash between the eternal rivals, as the referee's signal ended the nightmare for Les Phocéens. With their winless streak nearly stretching into a decade, Marseille made sure that wouldn't happen, securing a 1-0 victory at Parc des Princes in 2020.
