Roberto De Zerbi's men are looking for a fourth straight win in domestic action as Olympique de Marseille travel to Auxerre on Saturday evening. Christrophe Pelissier's side previously caused issues for Les Olympiens at the Vélodrome, when Les Auexerrois came away with a 3-1 win. After two draws and two recent losses, Pelissier and his men are trying to get back on track against Les Phocéens.
"The first game against Auxerre was an important match at the Vélodrome, I wouldn't say it was unfortunate at all. It's best to lose once in this manner instead of keep losing and finding the same excuses. I think we have progressed a bit everywhere and it was a match that was a turning point for us. Happily we have chosen the right path," said coach Roberto De Zerbi in his pre-match press conference.
It's fourth versus fifth in the Ligue 1 McDonald's table as Les Dogues face a Monégasque side who'll be hoping to react to their elimination from the UEFA Champions League last week in the best manner possible. Both Monaco and LOSC go into the game having won three of their last five matches, as the focus draws back to European qualification hopes from now until the end of the season.
Following a 7-1 win over FC Nantes last week, Monaco and their free-scoring young striker Mika Biereth will be hoping to get back on track domestically, whilst LOSC look to build on their win over Rennes (2-0) last week and the return of Nabil Bentaleb to some incredible goal-scoring action.
Two of Ligue 2 BKT's promoted sides last season face off at Stade Geoffroy Guichard as Saint-Étienne host Angers on Saturday afternoon. Les Verts are hoping to get over their heavy defeat to Marseille last weekend (5-1) and stop a losing run which could possibly extend to four games. SCO are faring slightly better on the table and in their recent form, having won against Reims in their last run-out, with a top 10 spot potentially in play by the end of the season for Les Angevins.
