Georges Mikautadze, Ernest Nuamah, Corentin Tolisso, and Alexandre Lacazette get involved in the goals as OL see off Montpellier.

Paulo Fonseca's men travelled to bottom side Montpellier and came away with a dominant 4-1 win thanks to goals from Georges Mikautadze, Ernest Nuamah, Corentin Tolisso, and Alexandre Lacazette. OL now have put the pressure on Nice and Lille ahead of Sunday's multiplex, by provisionally moving into fifth place.

MHSC came into the game hoping to emulate their shock 1-0 win at the Groupama Stadium, but Foneca's side were simply too deadly in their efficiency in front of goal at Stade de La Mosson on Sunday afternoon.

OL wasted no time in racing into a lead, as Cherki found Mikautadze in a great position on the right of the box, and the Georgian unleashed a strike across goal which Lecomte managed to get a hand to but still rolled into the back of the net (3'). Téji Savanier would be on the end of a chance to get right back into the game for the hosts only a few minutes later, but his strike was saved by Kumbedi. MHSC went one better as the first half started to draw to a close, when Téji Savanier latched onto a long throw from Théo Saint-Luce and put the ball on a plate for Tanguy Coulibaly to tap-in (38').

Coulibaly was involved once again just after the break when he burst down the wing on the counter attack and slipped in Nzingoula, but OL's Brazilian keeper Perri parried the ball away for a corner. Les Gones got themselves back in the lead after a fine diagonal pass from Nemanja Matic, and Numah latched onto it to drive in the box and then curl a fine finish past Lecomte (51').

Superb second-half sees OL through

Lyon would further impose their lead thanks to Corentin Tolisso's header following a pin-point cross from Nuamah (53') as Les Gones scored twice in a matter of minutes to turn the contest on its head. It would get even better for OL with the introduction of Alexandre Lacazette. The Frenchman latched onto a great through pass from Vinicius Abner and rolled the ball into the back of the net past Lecomte with his left-footed finish to put the affair out of sight for the away side (73').

THE STAT: Predator & Prey

Alexandre Lacazette scored his 15th goal against Montpellier in Ligue 1 McDonald's, the highest total for a player against the same club since Alain Giresse in 1986 (16 against Metz).
