Since the calendar turned to 2025, Paris Saint-Germain's Ousmane Dembélé has scored in every game he's played in, including back-to-back hat-tricks in the wins over VfB Stuttgart and Stade Brestois.
Before 2025 arrived, Dembélé began showing signs of finding his goal-scoring stride in December 2024. The Frenchman ended last year scoring three goals in three matches including a brace against AS Monaco in the final Ligue 1 McDonald's match of 2024 for PSG.
The forward’s strong finish to 2024 has carried over into 2025 beginning with the game-winning goal in the Trophée des Champions. Afterward, Dembélé followed up that dramatic goal with a brace against AS Saint-Étienne.
In a must-win UEFA Champions League match against Manchester City, the PSG attacker netted the opening goal, sparking a comeback that led to a 4-2 victory over the Premier League side.
After extending his scoring streak with a goal in the 1-1 draw against Stade de Reims, Dembélé’s form reached new heights in recent days.
Needing a win to secure a smooth passage to the next stage of the Champions League, the winger delivered a brilliant hat-trick against Stuttgart, scoring all three goals in consecutive fashion.
Following Bradley Barcola’s opening goal, Dembélé took over, scoring two goals in the first half and completing his hat-trick with a third unanswered goal in the final 45 minutes as PSG secured a 4-1 victory.
The PSG standout did his best to explain his form while speaking to Canal+ after the win over the German side.
"Playing as No. 9 brings me much closer to the goal. Once I get past a player, I’m right in front of goal, and I have the focus to finish. I’m also getting great service from my teammates. I’m really pleased."
Dembélé's impressive January carried over into February as the first game of the new month resulted in him scoring a second straight hat-trick in the 5-2 win over Brest this past weekend.
While speaking to reporters at his press conference, PSG manager Luis Enrique did his best to explain the player's form after the victory over Les Pirates.
"What Dembélé is doing right now is mainly down to his footballing skills. He's a player full of confidence at the moment and is making a real difference in front of goal."
The main goal with Ousmane Dembélé is to give him as many opportunities as possible to get on the ball, whether it's out wide, through the middle, or making runs. He's the player we've brought in to meet those needs."
PSG will face Le Mans in the Coupe de France Round of 16 and Monaco in Ligue 1 McDonald's action before their first-leg Champions League knockout phase play-off against Brest next week. It will be interesting to see if Dembélé can keep up his impressive run.
