In the first half, Strasbourg only recorded two total shots, but one of them found the back of the net in the 23rd minute thanks to a goal from Emanuel Emegha, who scored on a right-footed shot from the outside box to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
Emegha is on an impressive goal-scoring run as he's recorded four goals in his last three league matches for Strasbourg.
OM recorded four total shots in the first 45 minutes of action, but the home side couldn't level the scoring before the two squads went into the dressing room for halftime.
The second half was a different story for Marseille as their attack recorded 12 total shots in their attempt to find the equalizing goal. Robinio Vaz, who came off the bench in the 46th minute, drew a foul in the penalty area.
Strasbourg's Andrey Santos was at fault for committing the foul on Vaz in the 66th minute, allowing OM to have an opportunity to level the scoring. Mason Greenwood stepped into the box and converted to make the contest 1-1. The goal also marked Greenwood's 12th Ligue 1 McDonald's goal, allowing him to become the current goal-scoring leader.
Neither side would break the deadlock and the two squads walked away with one point. After the match, Emegha spoke to DAZN and noted that he's not satisfied with one point as Strasbourg had an opportunity to secure a road win.
"I don't think a point against Marseille is enough for us... We know what we're capable of, but in the second half, we weren't good enough to win, and I regret not scoring that second goal."
OM will be traveling to Allianz Riviera next weekend to face OGC Nice in a matchup between two top-five clubs in Ligue 1 McDonald's this season. As for Strasbourg, they'll welcome LOSC Lille next Saturday to the Stade de la Meinau.
Despite Marseille not securing the victory, manager Roberto De Zerbi joined an impressive group by taking one point from the match against Strasbourg. Only Igor Tudor (39) and Marcelo Bielsa (38) have collected more points than De Zerbi (37) after their first 18 games as managers with Olympique Marseille in Ligue 1 McDonald's.
