It’s time for a look at the first part of the Ligue 1 McDonald’s season! While the winter break offers a well-deserved rest to the top flight players, here’s a quick look at the best athletic performances of this first part of the season.
No one has run more than him this season in Ligue 1 McDonald’s. Always generous in his efforts, Marshall Munetsi has been putting in the hard yards since August, covering 164.3 km. His high level of activity brings joy to Stade de Reims but also serves a good cause. Since last season, for each kilometer covered by the midfielder, Stade de Reims has committed to donating 100 euros to the Marshall Munetsi Foundation, which works to provide access to education for children in Zimbabwe.
Second in the ranking, Toulouse FC's Vincent Sierro is more than 3 km behind (161.14), while Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (OM) completes the podium with 154.97 km.

If we look at the average distance covered per match, Munetsi also comes out on top of the championship with 11.74 km covered per game. The Reims player is slightly ahead of another central midfielder, FC Nantes' Douglas Augusto. An important player for Les Canaris he has not let up in his efforts over the first 15 rounds and has an average of 11.72 km per match. Only one other player exceeds 11 km per match and it is another tireless midfielder with 11.39 km, Nice's Hicham Boudaoui.
While the Top 10 is mainly made up of defensive or box-to-box midfielders (8 out of 10), two defenders manage to slip into the top of the ranking, with eighth place going to RC Lens' Facundo Medina and tenth to Le Havre's Christopher Opéri.
Regarding distance covered per 90 minutes, you have to look to RC Lens to find the best average of the season. Adrien Thomasson occupies the leader’s seat with 11.44 km run per 90 minutes. The Sang et Or player is ahead of Rennes’ Baptiste Santamaria (11.12) and two Parisians, Désiré Doué (11.09) and Joao Neves (11.03).
An attacking player capable of playing as a creator player, on the wing or as a false nine under Luis Enrique, Doué is also an exception here among more defensive midfielders in the Top 10 (8 out of 10).
Zakarian Aboukhlal, a regular at the top of the rankings in the category, is once again leading in terms of sprinting. The Toulouse FC winger is the player who covers the greatest distance per match by sprinting this season in Ligue 1 McDonald’s (436.4 m per match). Converted to left wingback by Liam Rosenior, Strasbourg’s Diego Moreira has also been lively this season and takes the runner-up spot with 417.1 m sprinted per match. Another RCSA player completes the podium with person of Emanuel Emegha (364.5 m), while Parisian Achraf Hakimi is fourth (347.7 m).
Luis Henrique had taken the crown from another Marseillais. Clocked at 36.98 km/h at the end of August, OM' Brazilian is for the moment the fastest player of the season and the successor to Faris Moumbagna, the winner of the last season. Shavy Babicka, clocked at 36.62 km/h with Toulouse FC, takes second place, while Strasbourg's Emegha completes the podium at 36.57 km/h.
A revelation from the start of the season in the RC Lens defense, Abdukodir Khusanov is not just a physical player. Clocked at 36.48 km/h, he ranks fourth as the fastest defender this season.
