Preview: Monaco Host Toulouse; OL Face In-Form Angers

On Saturday, Toulouse FC will travel to the Stade Louis II to face AS Monaco while Olympique Lyonnais will visit Stade Raymond Kopa for a matchup against an improved Angers SCO. Here's a preview to prepare you for these two exciting matches.

Toulouse FC vs. AS Monaco

Monaco are on a two-match losing streak across all competitions, losing to SL Benfica in the UEFA Champions League and Olympique de Marseille last weekend in Ligue 1. Ahead of the matchup against Les Violets, Monaco manager Adi Hütter spoke about his team's mindset after these two past defeats.

"We’re disappointed when we look at these two results. We didn’t deserve these two defeats given our performances. The equalizer against Marseille came ten minutes after halftime from a major individual mistake."

"It put us in some difficulty, but the reaction was very good after that, just as it had been against Benfica. We’re a bit unlucky at the moment. We’re not satisfied with the results, but as a coach, I can’t ignore the performances. We have to stick to our football."

Toulouse will be a challenging opponent as they have won four out of their last five matches in Ligue 1. This form has allowed Carles Martínez Novell and his team to be two points behind OGC Nice for next season's UEFA Europa Conference League spot.

Angers SCO vs. Olympique Lyonnais

Lyon are currently on a seven-match unbeaten streak across all competitions with their last loss coming on October 24th to Beşiktaş J.K. in the UEFA Europa League. OL had a big 4-1 over OGC Nice last weekend with Alexandre Lacazette recording a hat-trick in the process.

Tanner Tessmann joined OL this past summer and has played 467 minutes for Pierre Sage and his team so far this season. On Thursday, he spoke with the media about his integration into the squad.

"I learn so much by watching them, especially how they carry themselves on the pitch. They're also open to my questions, which is really helpful. The whole team has the same mindset..."

"I felt great during the match against Besiktas, even though we didn’t get the result we wanted. I was comfortable on the pitch, and the team put in a strong performance. Despite the disappointing outcome, it was a solid effort overall."

OL are set to face a difficult opponent in Angers, who have been in strong form lately, earning points in five of their last seven matches with three wins and two draws. This impressive run has helped Alexandre Dujeux and his team climb out of the direct relegation zone after a slow start to the season.
