Paris Saint-Germain trio Nuno Mendes, Vitinha, and João Neves were in Portugal's starting 11 in the draw against Croatia. Neves and Vitinha played all 90 minutes, while Mendes played 81 for Roberto Martinez and his team. For Croatia, Duje Ćaleta-Car was in the starting 11 and played all 90 minutes in their backline.
Another draw featuring a Ligue 1 player was the scoreless deadlock between Serbia and Denmark. Stade Rennais midfielder Albert Grønbæk wasn't in the Danes' starting 11 but did come off the bench in the second half to play 19 minutes. Strasbourg goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic played all 90 minutes for Serbia, making three saves to record a clean sheet.
The reigning UEFA Euro winners were in a tightly contested affair against Switzerland with multiple players having a connection to France's top flight.
PSG's Fabián Ruiz played all 90 minutes for Spain while Switzerland saw Stade Brestois’ Edimilson Fernandes play all 90 minutes for them. Toulouse FC's Vincent Sierro came off the bench to play 30 minutes and Rennes' Fabian Rieder, who is currently on loan to VfB Stuttgart, played 30 minutes in the loss for the Swiss.
While not in Ligue 1, Yvon Mvogo made five saves as the Ligue 2 standout had a stellar performance against La Roja.
LOSC Lille star Edon Zhegrova was in the starting 11 and played 79 minutes for Kosovo in the tightly contested victory over Lithuania.
OGC Nice defender Ali Abdi was in the starting 11 and played 60 minutes for Tunisia in the AFCON qualifying process.
Monaco's Eliesse Ben Seghir played 45 minutes in the lopsided victory as he provided the assist on Morocco's third goal. Olympique de Marseille midfielder Azzedine Ounahi, who is currently on loan to Panathinaikos, also played 45 minutes while recording an assist.
FC Nantes' Moses Simon played all 90 minutes for Nigeria in their loss to Rwanda as part of the AFCON qualifying process.
Olympique Lyonnais' Ernest Nuamah played all 90 minutes for Ghana in their loss to Niger as part of the AFCON qualifying process. The 21-year-old provided the assist on the lone goal that the Black Stars scored.
Concacaf are in the knockout stage of their Nations League tournament and OM's Michael Murillo played all 90 minutes for Panama, who advanced to the next round of the competition.
Lyon's Tanner Tessmann and Toulouse defender Mark McKenzie played all 90 minutes for the Americans, who are off to the next phase of the tournament after a comfortable win against Jamaica.
