Luis Enrique is optimistic ahead of PSG's Champions League clash against Atlético Madrid.

Luis Enrique's side face the club from the Spanish capital in their fifth outing in this season's UEFA Champions League.

Wednesday evening will see another 'Gala' match at the Parc des Princes in the UEFA Champions League as Atlético Madrid come to town. Beaten by fellow Ligue 1 side LOSC Lille at the Wanda Métropitano in their previous outing in the competition, Les Parisiens will be hoping to once again represent Ligue 1 well against Spanish opposition.

Les Rouge et Bleu were held to a 1-1 draw in their last Champions League outing, as Achraf Hakami's strike cancelled out Noa Lang's opener in the 34th minute. Enrique's side will be looking to get a taste of victory back in the Champions League, having lost to Arsenal (0-2) and drawn to PSV (1-1). The side from the French capital are looking to push up the standings, currently sitting 19th.

Atlético will still be reeling from their defeat to LOSC Lille two weeks ago, and will turn  towards the quality of Frenchman Antoine Griezmann, Julian Alvarez, and Alexander Sorloth to try and get back to winning ways. A win for Paris would go a long way to see them qualified in the last four matches without a worry. Wrapping up qualification early could be very beneficial for PSG in a packed calendar and tight competition in the league this year coming from Monaco and Olympique de Marseille.

The Presser: Luis Enrique

Luis Enrique was feeling confident in his pre-match press conference on Monday, believing his side has performed well so far in the Champions League despite the results not always being in PSG's favour. "The feeling is like the other matches in the Champions League," stated Enrique. "We've got a lot of optimism and confidence, with the objective to win the three points."

"I've already played against Diego Simeone as a player, and of course multiple times as a player," said Enrique about his opposite number on the Atléti bench. "He's a very good coach. He merits a lot of respect when you see him spend that much time in a club: you have to have a lot of energy to convince your players long term."

Predicted PSG XI to face Atlético Madrid: Donnarumma - Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, N. Mendes - Vitinha, J. Neves, Zaire-Emery - Dembélé, Lee, Barcola.
