AJ Auxerre grabbed their third win of the season at home to rise to 12th in the Ligue 1 table after edging out Stade de Reims thanks to goals from Sinaly Doimandé and Hamad Traoré. The former latched onto a free-kick fizzed in by Perrin who pounced at the back post to open the scoring for the hosts at Stade Abbé Deschamps (16').
Les Diplomates would get close to doubling the lead when they were given a penalty on the 36th minute, but Yehvann Diouf chose the right way to deny Jubal from the spot. Hamad Traoré got on the scoresheet in the second half, outpacing Kipré and dribbling past the Reims goalkeeper to then finish into an open net for his third goal of the season - sending the Auxerre faithful into raptures.
Keito Nakamura would grab his fifth goal of the campaign, latching onto Junya Ito's cross to half the deficit in added time - but it would provide too little too late as AJA held onto their lead for their third win of the season in Ligue 1.
One of two draws in today's multiplex action, FC Nantes and OGC Nice played out a 1-1 stalemate at Stade de la Beaujoire. The away side had the upper hand in the first period, with striker Evann Guessand posing problems for his former side. Lafont had to be on form to deny several of Les Aiglons' chances, but the two sides would head into the break at level-pegging.
At last, the deadlock was broken by Matthis Abline with a spectacular diving header to meet Moses Simon's low cross on his weak foot (67'). It was a big moment for Les Canaris, but one that would prove ephemeral, as Les Aiglons struck back only four minutes later. Former Canary Guessand who finished from a tight angle after being set up by Gaëtan Laborde (71'). The score would remain level and the points would be shared between the two well-matched sides at Stade de Beaujoire.
Angers managed to record their second draw on the road in a row as Ibrahima Niane's early opener was cancelled out by Josh King's first-ever goal for Toulouse in the second half. After Lefort did remarkably well to set him up, Niane slotted home past Restes as Les Angevins took a surprise lead early on at the Toulouse stadium (4'). With a lead to protect, SCO dug in and defended in numbers, Aboukhlal would get close but Les Violets wouldn't find an answer until deep into the second half.
It was Josh King, signed from Fernabahçe this summer, who grabbed his first goal of the season just past the hour mark. The Norway international showed his ex-Premier League pedigree when he latched onto Gboho's strike and fired past Fofana.
TFC put on the pressure to try and find a late winner, but some more superb saves from Fofana would keep the match level until the final whistle. Following their draw on the road at the Vélodrome before the international break, another 1-1 shows some progress for the struggling promoted side on the road.
