Euro Recap: Germany, Switzerland Draw; Hungary Win Late

Switzerland 1-1 Germany

Host nation Germany pulled out a dramatic draw against Switzerland to ensure they finished first in Group A. After coming off the bench for their first two group-stage matches, AS Monaco’s Breel Embolo was in the starting 11 for the Swiss against the Germans, but he wouldn't feature in the scoring and played 65 minutes. Embolo's Monaco teammate Denis Zakaria remained on the bench for this game.

It would be another player with Ligue 1 ties who opened the scoring for Murat Yakin and his team. Former OGC Nice player Dan Ndoye opened the scoring in the 28th minute for Switzerland to shock the home crowd.

The Rossocrociati were minutes away from securing all three points and finishing first in Group A, but that wouldn't be the case. Borussia Dortmund's Niclas Füllkrug leveled the scoring in the second half.

Hungary 1-0 Scotland

Le Havre defender Loïc Négo didn't feature in the dramatic match between Hungary and Scotland. The matchup between these two squads nearly ended in a scoreless draw, but in the second half stoppage time, Kevin Csoboth scored the late goal to give Hungary the victory and keep their hopes alive of advancing as one of the four highest-ranked third-placed teams.

After the final matchday, Germany finishes first in the group with seven points, second is Switzerland with five points, third is Hungary with three points, and in last place is Scotland with one point. If Hungary can advance as one of the four third-place teams, Ligue 1 will have more representation in the knockout stages of the competition.
