Colombia 1-1 Brazil
Former AS Monaco star James Rodríguez was in the starting 11 for Colombia. On the other side, Paris Saint-Germain captain Marquinhos, along with former Olympique Lyonnais stars Bruno Guimarães and Lucas Paquetá, were in the starting lineup for Brazil.
The Brazilians opened the scoring in the 12th minute courtesy of a goal from FC Barcelona's Raphinha off a free kick. Although Brazil enjoyed a 1-0 advantage, Colombia responded in the first-half stoppage time thanks to a goal from Crystal Palace's Daniel Muñoz. Both teams went into the dressing room leveled 1-1, and the result would stay the same.
With the 1-1 draw, Colombia top Group D and will face Panama in the knockout stages, while Brazil have a more challenging task as they have a matchup against Uruguay.
Costa Rica 2-1 Paraguay
Neither of these teams have players in their starting 11 with a connection to Ligue 1, but it was still a thrilling match. Costa Rica scored two goals in under ten minutes to take a 2-0 lead over Paraguay. The Paraguyans did respond with a goal in the 55th minute, but the matchup would stay 2-1 as the Costa Ricans would bow out of the tournament with a victory.
