PSG’s Marathon Season by the Numbers

After dismantling Real Madrid 4-0 in last week’s Club World Cup semifinal, the Champions League winners became the first French club to play 64 matches in a single season—an all-time record. And they were not done: PSG played their 65th match on Sunday in the Club World Cup final against Chelsea.

AS Monaco in the rearview

With their 65th match of the season, Luis Enrique’s side have set a new French record, surpassing the 63 games played by AS Monaco during their 2016-17 European run. PSG now hold the most matches played in a single season by any French club.

A new record for wins

Another milestone has been surpassed: total wins in a single season. With their victory over Madrid, PSG notched their 48th win of 2024-25, breaking the previous record of 47 set in 2015-16 under Laurent Blanc.

Goal record Nearly reached

In 64 matches, PSG have already scored 168 goals across all competitions. They’re now just three goals shy of another record: the 171 goals scored by Unai Emery’s PSG in 2017-18, achieved in only 57 games.

With their current momentum, Ousmane Dembélé and company have every reason to believe they’ll break it. They’ve already notched three 4-0 wins in this tournament—against Atlético Madrid in their opener, Inter Miami CF in the Round of 16, and Real Madrid in the semifinal.

Bradley Barcola, tireless...

Among individual players, Bradley Barcola leads the pack in appearances. The French international has played in 63 of PSG’s 64 matches, setting a Ligue 1 McDonald’s-era record for most appearances in a single season. He’s ahead of Désiré Doué and Fabián Ruiz, who have each made 60 appearances, as well as Valère Germain, a standout from Monaco’s 2016-17 campaign.

...and frequently victorious

Naturally, Barcola also holds the record for most individual wins this season, with 47 victories. He once again leads Doué (46) and Ruíz (44). Among non-active players, only Lucas Moura from the 2015-16 squad appears in the rankings.

Between Ligue 1 McDonald’s, the Champions League, Coupe de France, and now the Club World Cup, PSG put together a historic, unmatched season in French football.
