RC Lens are third in Ligue 1 Uber Eats after making an historic start to the season - thanks in large part to their string of impressive performances at home. In fact, Franck Haise's side have the highest differential between home and away points of any side in the top flight. Investigation...

Six home games: six wins. RC Lens have made a perfect start to the season at home - and marked the history of the club! Florian Sotoca and his team-mates have beaten Stade Brestois 29 (3-2), Stade Rennais FC (2-1), FC Lorient (5-2), ESTAC Troyes (1-0), Olympique Lyonnais (1-0) and Montpellier Hérault SC (1-0). But when was the last time RCL had such a run? You have to go back to January and April 1998 (also six wins), during the season they claimed the club's one and only league title, to find traces of such success at the Stade Bollaert.

Best home team

The club's unwavering support from the fans has helped them to top the league's home standings (18 points). They are ahead of Stade Rennais FC with 15 points at Roazhon Park, while four teams have 13 points at home: OL, OM, FC Lorient and PSG. On the other hand, Franck Haise's side are less prolific away from home, currently in ninth place on the away table, with six points from one win, three draws and one defeat. PSG are in the lead this time (18 points).

A podium finish?

With a total of 24 points after 11 Ligue 1 Uber Eats matches, Lens have the highest differential - equal with OL - between points obtained at home and away (+12). Stade Rennais FC (+9) and Toulouse FC (+7) follow.

Finally, Lens - currently in third place in the league - are off to their best start since 2001-02 (also 24 points, second at the end of the season) and can dream of a podium finish in June. The proof: 18 of the 23 teams with this (or a greater) points total at this stage of the season in the 21st century have ended that season in the top three.
