After shining in Ligue 1 with Metz in the 2023-2024 season with 14 goals, Georges Mikautadze announced himself on the international stage at Euro 2024 in style. In their first-ever major tournament, Georgia managed to reach the last sixteen, before being knocked out by Spain (1-5). Mikautadze would score three goals and end up as joint-top scorer on three goals along with Cody Gakpo, Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala, Dani Olmo, Ivan Schranz. The forward also managed an assist, just Behind Fabian Ruiz (2).
Eight goals were scored by Ligue 1 players at Euro 2024, including the three scored by Georgia's Mikautadze as well as the two scored by Fabian Ruiz.
