The 2024 Copa América tournament continues, and the latest slate of matches on Thursday provided an upset result. Did you miss any of the action? Here's a recap.

Panama 2-1 United States

Gregg Berhalter and his team faced an early hurdle in the matchup against Panama as former LOSC Lille standout Timothy Weah received a straight red card in the 18th minute. Despite being a man down, the United States did respond well with an opening goal from AS Monaco's Folarin Balogun in the 22nd minute.

Still, the lead wouldn't last as Panama, who had Olympique de Marseille's Michael Amir Murillo in the starting 11, leveled the scoring 1-1 with a goal in the 26th minute. The two teams went into halftime tied, but Thomas Christiansen and his team scored the go-ahead goal in the 83rd minute. The goal proved to be the game-winner as Panama secured the upset win and all three points.

Panama controls its destiny, as a win over Bolivia will see it through to the knockout stage. The USA will need to defeat Uruguay and have Panama either draw or lose to Bolivia.

Uruguay 5-0 Bolivia

Former Marseille manager Marcelo Bielsa and his team got off to an impressive start with a goal in the eighth minute courtesy of a header from Manchester United's Facundo Pellistri. The second goal in the first half came from Liverpool star Darwin Núñez for a 2-0 heading into halftime.

Uruguay, who had Paris Saint-Germain's Manuel Ugarte in their starting 11, opened the goal-scoring floods in the second half. La Celeste added three more goals in the final 45 minutes as Uruguay secured all three points and will top Group C heading into the final matchday.
