Following a busy week of European action, attention turns back to Ligue 1 as Brest face Reims at home, and Le Havre visit Nice hoping to secure their safety in the league for next season

Brest vs Reims: Les Pirates on course for UCL qualification

It was confirmed last weekend: Stade Brestois will be playing European football for the first time in their history. There will be a party atmosphere at the Stade Francis Le Blé on Friday evening, as Eric Roy's side welcome a Stade de Reims side who have just parted ways with Anglo-Belgian manager Will Still.

Following a 0-0 draw against FC Nantes last weekend, Eric Roy's Brest side are hoping to now seal a Champions League spot, pending the result between Nice and Le Havre in Friday night's other game being played at the same time.

PSG and Marseille are the only two sides which can boast a better record at home this season than Brest, yet only one match out of the Breton side's last four have ended up as a victory (a 4-3 victory over a struggling Brest side).

Meanwhile, Will Still left Stade de Reims following a humiliating 4-1 loss to Ligue 1's bottom side last weekend, as the Englishman's former assistant Samba Diawara took over the reins of the 12th-placed side. The Champagne region outfit will have to shake-off a five game winless run if they are to get a result against Brest.

Brest vs Reims: likely lineups

Stade Brestois: Bizot; Lala, Chardonnet, Brassier, Locko; Magnetti, Martin; Pereira Lage, Camara, Satriano; Mounie

Stade de Reims: Diouf; Foket, Agbadou, Abdelhamid, Koudou; Teuma, Munetsi, Richardson; Ito, Diakite, Nakamura

OGC Nice - Le Havre: consequences at both ends of the table

Les Aiglons and the Ciel et Marine will face off at the Allianz Riveria on Friday evening in a match which could be utterly decisive at both ends of the table. The equation is relatively simple for Le Havre : a win would be enough to go into the last game of the season with fears of relegation staved away. For OGC Nice, they could extend their battle for the Champions League up until the final day, as they trail Stade Brestois by only two points.

The French Riviera side have reignited their bid for top-four with a recent four-game unbeaten streak in Ligue 1 Uber Eats, after previously losing five from six in all competitions from February to March.

Six points clear of the drop zone, and three away from the relegation playoff spot with just two games left, Le Havre would be able to consider themselves safe with just a draw in their last two games.

OGC Nice vs Le Havre: likely lineups
